The school district has gone green also! They will no longer be printing out paper copies of the lunch menus, but you can see the latest menu by clicking on this link:
FUSD is requesting interested parents to apply for a seat on the Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Committee for the 2017-18 school year. Use the link on the FUSD website home page to fill and complete the application by 5/26/17."
Mission Valley Maze Day is scheduled for August 29! The purpose of MAZE Days is for the parents to turn in all their necessary Emergency Paperwork prior to school starting so we can prepare for your child to attend Mission Valley. For confidentiality reasons, class lists will no longer be posted—the only way to get your child’s classroom assignment is to come to Maze Day with all the necessary documents.
Maze Day will take place in the MUR on Tuesday, August 29 from 8:15am-11:30am and 12:45pm-3:15pm. Please note that we will be closed for lunch from 11:30am - 12:45pm and the MUR will not be open at that time.
Please note that we will not take any paperwork or give out classroom assignments outside of these times, so please schedule your vacation and work plans around this day. You will receive all the Maze Day forms via US Mail in mid-August so that you can fill them out prior to coming to Maze Day.
Dear Mission Valley Families,
Please help us keep our students and staff safe by abiding by our parking lot and valet procedures. Safety is our number one priority in the morning and afternoons as our students arrive and depart from school. Please pass this message along to your carpool drivers as well.
Parents dropping off or picking up students must enter the campus from the cone lane on Denise Street. You can ONLY get into the queue off of Chadbourne. There are no left turns from Denise Street into the school loading/unloading zone. Please pull all the way forward into the loading/unloading zone and do not get out of your vehicle. Please do not stop in the middle of the circle as it impedes the traffic flow. Ten to twelve cars are able to enter the zone at one time. Once all students have been loaded or unloaded, all vehicles will leave in a group and the next group of vehicles will be allowed to enter. You will be asked to go around the block and begin the procedure again if your student has not entered your vehicle by the time the cars are directed to leave the zone. Please remember the parking lots are for Mission Valley Staff only. Remember the side access road is for EMERGENCY VEHICLES, MISSION VALLEY STAFF and CAFETERIA DELIVERIES ONLY.
Students are not allowed to wait anywhere for shuttle drives other than the “carpool” zone in the valet lane.
The parking lots in the front and the back of the school are for staff parking only.
Please do not park in front of the entrance to the school. Even though it may be coned off, this is a fire lane and must be kept clear at all times.
Please do not use the rear parking lot for any reason between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.
Students are NOT to walk through the parking lots for any reason.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF 6th GRADERS:
PERTUSSIS BOOSTER: NO SHOT! NO SCHOOL!
Pertussis Booster Required for 7th Grade – 2017/2018 School Year
All students entering the 7th grade in the 2017/2018 school year must receive a Tdap (Pertussis/ Whooping Cough) booster shot before entering school in August 2017.
Proof of the vaccine must include: Student’s name, date of birth, vaccine name, date vaccine administered and name of the clinic, office, or doctor administering the vaccine.
Families with Private Insurance
You may obtain the Tdap booster from your primary care physician. Kaiser Permanente members can view their student’s Immunization Record on-line to verify if their student has already received the Tdap booster. A print-out of the Kaiser Permanente Immunization Record can be accepted as proof of the Tdap vaccination.
Families without Insurance/Families with Medi-Cal
The W.O.W. Mobile Health Clinic provides immunizations to uninsured and underserved District residents. For more information on the mobile clinic schedule or to schedule an appointment, please call (510) 608-3203 or refer to the following website: http://www.whhs.com/wow/.
Tri-City Health Center also offers immunizations for students who are uninsured or have Medi-Cal. Please contact Tri-City Health Center at (510) 770-8040 to schedule an appointment. Tri-City Health Center is located at 2299 Mowry Avenue, Suite 3B, Fremont, CA 94538.

We highly encourage you to have your student receive the TDAP vaccine now and to bring proof to your student’s school office as soon as possible. This will prevent delaying registration and selection of courses for 7th grade.

2017-2018 Enrollment Info
January 10-18: Parent/Legal guardians pick up enrollment packets for TK-6th grade SIBLINGS of current TK-5th enrollees ONLY. (Please note that if you do not pick up a packet by the 18th you will not be able to register during the sibling priority period)
February 1-3: Parent/Legal guardians return completed SIBLING enrollment packets to Student Support Services, 4210 Technology Drive. (Please note that if you do not return your packet by the 3rd you will not be eligible for sibling priority registration)
February 15 - March 29: Priority enrollment begins for all other NEW TK-K students. Parents/guardians must book appointments online. You can start making appointments online Feb 8.
May 8: Enrollment begins for NEW TK-6th grade students.
February 13: Reservation forms will be sent home the week of February 13. Please note that not everyone will receive their forms on this date - please give it a few days to arrive.
April 24-May 5: If you have a student currently on an intra-district transfer and you would like them to stay at Mission Valley, you must turn in a new transfer request during this time.
The District is looking for volunteers to participate in the Crossing Guard program. Training will be offered at no cost to participants. Training will take place on Wednesday, October 26, at the District Office from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
The volunteer application packets will be provided at the training. During the training, if there are 10 or more volunteers in attendance, Livescan Identity will be available to process finger printing, which is a requirement for volunteers. Volunteers must register in advance. If you would like to be a volunteer crossing guard, please contact Julie Wise at 657-2350 x12639 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
